Simple Clean Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash 150ml, £4.29 - Boots // Simple Clean Skin Oil Balancing Facial Scrub 75ml, £3.99 - Boots

I'm not afraid to admit that skincare isn't the highlight of my life. In fact I find it quite boring but I do appreciate a good clean, soft and well cleansed face. With these products, here's how I achieve clear skin.
I have quite oily skin with the odd little dry back which is sometimes quite difficult to combat or to work with, as I'm sure you'll know if you're a regular reader, if you're not, hey - I have oily, misbehaving skin.

I never used to understand or even know that you could get certain face washes for certain skin types. Then again I didn't know that my skin was oily as I'd never really paid attention to it, I just slapped any old thing on my skin and hoped for the best.

In recent years I've become to love my skin and understand what it needs and what it doesn't need. I've realised that if I'm using oil free products that I'll need a moisturiser or other skin care products that will balance out the oil so my face isn't completely dehydrated, which would cause it to panic and over produce oil, which I really don't want.

When browsing the shelves of Boots for skincare, I came across these two products, since I'd ran out of my other face wash I decided to give these two a go. One for everyday (Exfoliating Wash) and one for twice a week (Facial Scrub.) I like to exfoliate my skin lightly once a day to keep it looking fresh and bright but I also like to do a deep scrub twice a week to really get rid of any dead skin cells and unwanted bacteria/oils from my skin.

These two products contain Witch Hazel Goodness as they say so themselves. Witch Hazel is an effective acne treatment which nowadays is in quite a lot of skincare items. I haven't noticed a huge difference in my blemishes and zits (yuck) from using witch hazel and not using it (in my previous face wash) only that they are reduced in size and less red when they do appear, they also don't stay around for very long, maybe one or two days.

These products are really refreshing and light on the skin, they don't clog pores, they don't make my skin greasy after washing and they genuinely do control the oil that my skin produces. I have noticed that on days where I am in a rush and will use a face wipe (smacks self on the back of the hand) that my skin is generally misbehaved and creates a lot of oils, but when I do use either of these face washes my skin calms down and my makeup sits a lot nicer.

I do really like these products and I will repurchase them but I will also delve into the Simple skincare brand a little more and see what they have to offer!

What do you think of Simple/these products? Let me know in the comments!
