2013 Favourites!

Hey!

So, 2013 is over and a LOT of beauty products made their way into my yearly favourites this year! as well as two unrelated favourites but I thought I'd try to include a variety of favourites not just beauty products!

I've split the products into sections to make it easier to read rather than one big jumble which isn't very attractive to read!

Skincare:
  1. L'oreal Skin Perfection Serum 30ml -  This has done wonders for my pores, visibly reducing them so much. I remember before I used this I used to look in the mirror on a warm day and the size of my pores actually used to freak me out, not anymore!
  2. L'oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution - I've mentioned this product many times this year and every time I've said I love it and I do, it removes make up so easily and so gently that I have no complaints with it. Read my review here.
  3. Avon Clear Skin Clear Emergency Instant Treatment Gel - Best spot treatment ever, scrap toothpaste and all those other wives tales and get on this! Apply it after your facial routine at night and then in the morning, poof! the spots gone! It's amazing.

Base Products:

  1. MaxFactor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation in Warm Almond 45 - This is my holy grail drug store foundation I love it to bits and it sits perfectly on my oily skin so thats a definite plus! Read my full review here.
  2. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Make Up in 1N2 Ecru - This is the first high end foundation I've ever bought and I've honestly never had a foundation like it. To read my full review click here.
  3. Maybelline The Eraser Eye Perfect & Conceal Correcter in Light - Everyone and their dog have this concealer in the blogosphere/youtube land and I can definitely see why. I use it as a more of a highlight than a concealer but it really stays and covers my dark circles very well. read my review here.
  4. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15 - As everyone knows, this is a fab concealer and I don't really need much product and it goes a very long way! REad my review here.
  5. Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream For Oily Skin in Light - Used mainly in the summer, this product served me well through many hot days working in a hot and sweaty restaurant!
  6. Soap & Glory Kiss Ass Concealer in Light - This is a heavy duty concealer for the undereye and blemishes and it also comes with a powder to set. I really like it as it covers red spots and zit really well! Read my review here.

Powders:

  1. MUA Blush in Lolly - I needed a peachy/coral colour to add to my blush kit but I couldn't find this colour any until I saw it on the MUA site! It's highly pigmented and long lasting so for £1 I couldn't go wrong!
  2. Sleek FaceForm Palette in Light - I'd heard a lot of things about this palette and mainly good so I bought it and wasn't disappointed! Read my full review here.

Eyes:

  1. Sleek Eyebrow Kit in Light - This kit is a lot like the Benefit Browzings but a lot less pricey! The powder is so pigmented and stays all day so when I first got it I was really surprised!
  2. MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Undressed - Known in the beauty blog/vlog world as the Naked 1 rip off/dupe whatever you wish to call it. I love all the colours and the neutrality of all the colours! read my review here.
  3. L'oreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow Palette in Disco Smoking - I bought this because I wante something different to all my neutral colours and thought the colour range was quite varied for a quad. The pigmentation is insane and the colours last forever so it was very good value! Read my full review here.
  4. Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze - These shadow bases have been my rock when it comes to smokey eyes as the base really enhances the colour, I usually colour co-ordinate with my lid colour to the type of 24hr tattoo that I use and they work so so well. Read my full review here.
  5. Soap & Glory Supercat Felt Eyeliner Pen - This is the blackest of black eyeliner pens i've ever used. The nib is so study and it lasts me ages. A+++. Full review here.
  6. Maybelline BrowDrama Brow Sculpting Gel in Medium Brown - My fave brow gel! I don't know what I did without this as my brows are so unruly I must've looked mental but now, it is in my life and I am forever grateful. Read my full review here.
  7. Benefit They're Real! Mascara - Everyone knows how great this mascara is so there's no need for me to sing it's praises anymore but I really do love it! Read mt full review here.

Lips:

  1. Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me
  2. MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in RiRi Woo
  3. MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Candy Yum Yum
  4. Lime Crime Velvetines Matte Lip Gloss in Red Velvet
  5. Lush Popcorn Lipscrub

Other:

  1. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, Powder, Contour & Base Shadow Brush, MAC 217, QVS Flat Shader and Barry M Fluffy brush - These are the brushes/tools that I have been reaching for the most/have loved the most this year. They really have changed the way I apply my make up on a day to day basis!
  2. Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau De Toilette - FAVOURITE scent ever, it's so fresh and sophisticated I honestly could live with my house smelling like this. If I found a candle with this scent I could die happy.
  3. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.7 - I received this as a gift for writing a post about BT and I haven't put it down since. Being on BT broadband as a family anyway the post was relevant to me and definitely applied to my blog as it is on the internet...Receiving this in return was beyond awesome and I'm so lucky!
Other *December* Favourites.
Song: Avicii - Hey Brother
Drink - Costa Gingerbread & Cream Latte
Food - Gingerbread men

There we have it! My 2013 favourites! I hope you enjoyed!

The Annual New Years Post.

Ah, another year has come and gone leaving a behind a trail of memories I'm sure to remember for the rest of my life. For me 2013 wasn't the best of years and I'm pretty glad to see the back of it!

I'm sure we're all now saying "In 2014 I'll lose weight, be healthier, more organised and a better me!" Come this time in 2014 we'll be making the same resolutions for 2015, to put it simply we will do what we do every year and do it wrong,again...but hey, life's a lesson, right?

This year I am truly going to be motivated and organised with everything I do and take more responsibility for myself as an adult (I'm turning 21 this year!) and I'm definitely going to try and grow as an individual and become more independant than I already am!

2014 To Do List:
  • Learn to drive - this has topped my to do list for ages but I always want to spend my money on other things but this year I will do it!!
  • Train to be a make up artist - this is what I really want to do and at the moment I'm pretty much a novice! So I want to go onto a course or to a college where I can further my skills and become certified and professional.
  • Save up -  As soon as I get money, it's gone and 'm awful at saving so I'm going to go on a spending ban and only spend money on either back ups of my staple products/driving lessons and essentials.
  • Move out - Me, my boyfriend and one of our friends have been entertaining the idea of getting a flat and now we've decided we will do it at the end of 2014! I'm super excited to move out and have my own space and become fully independant and I keep scrolling through Ikea & Right Move websites to get inspiration and to see the houses available. I'm so excited to decorate a little space how I want it and to get a little house kitty, it'll be so cute!
2014 Resolutions
  • Don't waste money on items that are not essential.
  • Become more independent
  • Think before I act.
  • Make more time for friends
  • Become more organised & work hard.
So that's basically it as for as New Years goes! This is basically everything I want to achieve and what I will hope to get done by this time next year. I hope I can look back on this post and feel proud of myself for achieving everything and I definitely can't wait to see what the new year will bring!

What're your resolutions? Let me know!

2013 really has been a blogful year for me, my blog definitely took off this year gaining 100 new followers and I actually consider it more than a hobby, I sometime even buy make up thinking "I could incorporate this into a season/holiday inspired look!" or "This will make a great post on my blog" So it has definitely become a huge part of my life and the people I've met through it I am glad to have gotten to know!

A lot of YouTubers have inspired me along the way with their various Vlogs and Tutorials and I love to just grab my tablet and a cup of tea on a sunday morning or even before I set off to work, and just scrolling through Bloglovin' seeing what posts I've missed from my favourite blogs.

Christmas Will Be Here Shortly...

"Twas the night before Christmas, when all round the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse..."

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you're all having a fab holiday season and stuffing your faces!

Christmas really is a time for family and relaxation and I'm going to dedicate a whole post on how I relax and what I get up to on Christmas Eve!

When I was younger it would be a whole day of going "Oh my god, Christmas day tomorrow!!!!" With my friends and discussing what we thought we had for christmas whilst screaming about what we wanted. Me and my brother would also spend the upcoming days searching high and low in the house for where my parents had hid the presents (usually the wardrobe or the spare room, not very original!)

Now that I'm older and I usually get one main present and money from my family, it's a little less about getting presents and more about just enjoying the day and relaxing, not having to think about work or life in general and just enjoying being completely and utterly oblivious to any and every other "adult" problems I may be facing.

First off I like to take a relaxing bath with candles and the works and just really getting into the mood of Christmas, if you'd like to know what my "pamper night" involves you can read my blog post here.

I sometimes place Christmas songs, but working in a department store and having them songs played over and over on an hourly cycle, I think this year I'm going to steer clear and just play some relaxing music.

After my bath I have a night of Christmas films lined up including The Grinch, Santa Clause, The Muppets: Christmas Carol and a few of The Simpsons Christmas special episode, this is mainly to fill some time as I usually just stay home on Christmas eve. Not a fan of waking up hungover on Christmas Day!

Now we all love a good snack whilst watching films right? My snack of choice this year are Gingerbread Men! I've really become obsessed with gingerbread this year after not eating it for so long I now want gingerbread everything and even went to Costa just get get a Ginger Bread and Cream latte, which was fabulous might I add!

This is pretty much how my Christmas eve will pan out! To be quite honest, I can't wait to just do absolutely nothing!

What do you do on Christmas Eve to wind down? Or to celebrate? Let me know! :)

Happy holidays!
