November Favourites

Hey!

November has well and truly been a month of reusing products, rekindling my love for some unused products and saving money as I'm so so poor right now and spending all my money on nights out (bad idea but such a good idea at the time) so I haven't had chance to buy ANY make up except back ups! Boohoo :(

Anyways moving on these are the make up products that have been on my face the majority of the month!

MUA Pro Eyeshadow Palette in Undressed
This palette, along with it's sister palette the Undress 2, are my favourite neutrals palette (I'm yet to invest in Naked Basics) and I use them nearly every single day. This month I've really being donning a smokey neutral eye so this palette has been by my side for a while! Reviewed >here<

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle
The perfect highlighter on any skin tone. It gives just a gorgeous golden light sheen to where ever you place it and is a definite staple in my make up bag, especially during Summer and on nights out! Reviewed >here<

Lush Lip Scrub in Popcorn
Winter can be really harsh on the lips so as well as being well moisturised you also need to keep well exfoliated as dry skin can make lip stick look untidy. This lip scrub has been helping me do that these past few Wintery months but as Novembers been marginally colder than October, I've been abusing this little pot! Reviewed >here<

Avon SuperShock Mascara in Black
I know this was in my October Favourites but this stuff really is amazing. M eyelashes have never been so full and voluminous/long. It such an inexpensive item and you can order it online you don't need an avon rep! It's super easy to wash off as well but it doesn't run in the rain. Don't know how they do it...also a review >here<

L'oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette in Disco Smoking
I reviewed this >here< if you'd like to read that. This is such a good palette for this time of year because it has dark pink, black, deep purple and a mustard yellow, so you have a few seasonal colours to play with and I've definitely been loving experimenting with them.

MAC Pro Longwear in NC15
I feel like everyone raves this concealer but I can definitely see why. it's so opaque and once it goes on it's not coming off for anything! (Except make up remover of course.) It doesn't clog pores of crease which is fab and it doesn't dry the skin out which I love. Thumbs up to MAC as per usual. Review >here<

MAC Veluxe Pearl Eyeshadow in Woodwinked
Another MAC product I see. Seriously though, this eyeshadow is amazing and so so pretty! It's pure shimmer and luxe and amazing and I love it. It feels so luxurious to have it on and definitely makes your eyes pop. Especially if you have blue eyes like me!

Avon SuperExtend Eyeliner in Blackest Black
The nib on this eyeliner is so thin you can actually create a line so thin no one will see it, but whats the point in that right? The eyeliner it's self takes a little bit of layering as if you go over it when it's still wet it kind of erases what's already been done but still, for the quality its definitely worth it.

MAC RiRi Woo (Not Pictured)
For some reason I forgot to photograph this one! I got this lipstick way back on May 3rd when it was first released and I'm so so glad I did. However I am a bit jel of the packaging that came with the Fall/Autumn collection!! This lipstick has been on my lips near enough constantly and I am in LOVE well done Rihanna&MAC you've made me very happy! Review >here<

REVIEW: Avon SuperShock Mascara in Black*

Hey!

Okay so, I was gifted this mascara by Avon as I'm a Sales Rep so I got it for reaching my sales target. I didn't receive it to review it but as a beauty blogger..that's just what I do y'all.

The brush on the end of the wand is very thick and has a lot of closely placed little plastic bristles on it. This gives your lashes that super fanned out effect and not leaving them spider like. I do like the spider lash effect however so I leave my lashes to dry for a while then go back over them - bad beauty blogger.

Because the brush is so long you can get every single lash and it does genuinely look like you're wearing falsies. As much as I love my Benefit They're Real! mascara, no one ever asked me if they were actually "real" they just knew they were real but I have been asked if I was wearing falsies with this mascara (RESULT!) which pleased me to no end but also made me think "Damn, I spent £19.50 on that Benefit one..." but then Benefit mascara does have many other...benefits ;) compared to this.

The mascara consistency is very wet and doesn't dry up quickly which is always a plus and it's also quite a large tube so you do get a fair bit in it. This mascara is honestly the blackest mascara I have ever used so I will probably buy another one when I'm all out!

Have you ever tried this mascara? Let me know your thoughts!

REVIEW: Barry M Angled Brush & Fluffy Eye Brushes

Hey!

Okay, so usually I stick to my trusty MAC or Real Techniques brushes for my face/eyes but I was browsing Superdrug a few weeks ago and saw these brushes and since I don't really have anything like them in my eye brush collection I decided to go for them.

I bought the angled brush and the small domed fluffy brush. I really wasn't expecting anything from them at £2.99 a pop but they dd surprise me when I started to use them! They're not brilliant but they do certain jobs very well.

They are synthetic and they can shed a little but they don't shed as much as you'd think, maybe a few hairs every week or so but definitely not every use, and I use them every day. You can wash these brushes as you would wash any other brush and they aren't scratchy, despite the way my pictures have made them look they are actually quite soft! I wouldn't go as far to say that they're as soft as my RT's or MAC ones but still, they don't leave your lids red raw at the end which is good.

The angled brush I bought originally for my brows but since using a pencil and my RT eyebrow brush I just lost use for it and so now I use it for my gel eyeliner and it does a really good job.

The small fluffy brush I use for under brow highlighting and inner corner highlighting as it just the right shape to get dead into the inner corner of my eyes and spreads just enough highlight under my brow bone.

Barry M has definitely done a good job (for the price) on these brushes and the colourful handles are definitely fab to look at when they're in my brush pots.

So there you have it! My review of these particular Barry M brushes. What do you think of the brushes? Do you have any from this range that you think are particularly good? Let me know!

REVIEW: Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencil In Vanilla Sky

Hey!

I saw a review of this eyeshadow pencil on a blog a few months back and bought one the same weekend and have never gotten round to reviewing it, so here it is!

This pencil had a very creamy consistency and slides onto the lid. When it dries though, there is no getting this sucker off without make up removed or a face wipe!

The colour I chose is this vanilla colour as I think I could use this as an all over colour and then layer colours on top of it leaving it to be a inner corner highlight. White goes with everything right?

You can use this pencil on its own as an all over colour, as a highlight colour, or even as a shadow base and it's really blendable. I haven't worked out if I can sharpen it or what yet or if when the tip has gone then it's just gone? It was only £2.99 so I can always buy another but it's nice to know!

The wear is very good as it does act like a creaseless shadow or a shadow base so you do get a fair 6-8 hours wear from it, probably more but I usually take my make up off after max 8 hours and by that point it's only started to wear a little but it really does keep my eyeshadow in place and it's very pigmented also.

I have heard these pencils be likened to that of the NYX Jumbo Pencils but since they're not available in the UK, I wouldn't know as I don't own any! Boohoo!

If you've tried these pencils, what do you think? Let me know!

REVIEW: Rimmel Monoshadow in 030 Siren

Hey!

So a few weeks ago my younger sister was kind enough to give me this little eyeshadow as she knew of my love for the colour pink. She gave it to me in hopes I would wear it on nights out and such as my hair is now pink so it'll match! How cute?

The colour does come off quite vibrant but I love that as you don't go out and buy a colour this bright unless you want it to look bright on your eyes right? you do have to pat quite a lot onto the lid to get a complete coverage as you can probably see from my swatch, it does go a bit sheer if you just swipe it across the lid. So an eyeshadow base would also be a definite yes if you're planning to wear this and wanting it to stay for a while!

It's very pigmented which obviously is a good thing, and I know i said it was sheer but it's sheer & bright...If that makes sense? It does to me anyway, haha.

However the wear of the shadow, with a base, isn't brilliant but it will last around 3 hours which is good enough for me as I usually have to blot my face anyone so a little reapplication wouldn't bother me too much.

It doesn't smell of anything so should be ok for sensitive skin and it also is quite inexpensive at £3.49 in Tesco, Boots & Superdrug so you can't really go wrong!

Overall I would say I am very pleased with this eyeshadow since it was a gift and I wasn't expecting too much from it. The only let down I would say is the wear!

Have you ever tried any shadows from this range? Let me know!

Christmas Wish List 2013

L-R = Marc Jacobs Daisy Gift Set, Boots - £50 // Anastasia Brow Wiz Brow Definer in Ash Blonde, CultBeauty.com - £15.50 // Velvet Lips in Plush, Topshop - £10 // Santa's Lip Scrub, Lush £5.50 // Sleek Eyeshadow Palette in Ultra Bright Mattes, Superdrug - £7.99.

1. No need to say much here! I love Daisy it's my all time favourite scent and unfortunately mines just run out :( (boohoo) SO I've asked my parents nicely to get me this little gift set.

2. Anyone who blogs knows about this and everyone who I can think of on the internet has it except me! Well I'm hoping come Christmas I can jump on the Brow Wiz band wagon and see what the fuss is about.

3. I'm a massive fan of Lime Crime's Velvetine and intend to get the Pink Velvet on Nov 28th however I was browsing the Topshop website and I saw this and it made me so excited that there are darker colours available so I definitely want this colour! Well done, Topshop.

4. I've wanted this ever since I've seen Karla Powell use it on one of her instagram pictures. Plus it smells/tastes like cola!! Mmmmmm...

5. I have a lot of eyeshadows but hardly any bright colours (why?!) So I've heard that Sleek MakeUP are good for highly pigmented matte shades so this palette has definitely earned it's place on my wishlist!

So that is my beauty wishlist for Christmas 2013! Have you started yours? Let me know! Merry Christmas! (Too early?)

LIFESTYLE/BEAUTY: Dying my hair pink/purple with Schwarzkopf Colour XXL Ultra Brights.

 Hey!

Okay, so I'll start off by saying in no way am I a pro at this. I dye my hair fairly often and just hope for the best in terms of results. I have had bad results before, I've just dyed over them until I was happy. You need to have healthy hair before dying, bleaching etc as if it's not healthy it will snap and you may lose a lot of hair but this is yet to happen to me or anyone I know, it's only in extreme circumstances. Hair dye however will not make you bald, it is the condition your hair is in that will determine whether or not your hair will cope with the chemicals you're putting onto it, so my advise would be just try and deep condition it at least once a week for about 15-30 mins!

I've done a full review of the Schwarzkopf Colour XXL Ultra Brights Raspberry Rebel >here< if you would like to have a read of that first, as that is the brand of hair dye I used to achieve my soft pink/purple colours, then click the link :) t's currently £5 from Boots!

Moving on!

I decided one day last week after browsing the internet, that I wanted to go fully pink in terms of hair colour and already having the ends purple made me feel a lot more confident about this as I could blend the two without really having to change my hair too much, but I didn't want to go super bright pink, So I first used the Bleach London Super Cool Colours dye in Rose but found that because my hair wasn't WHITE blonde that it didn't really show up on my hair when I applied it and I tried it wet & dry to see if there was any difference and there wasn't, which disappointed me. So I decided to stick to what I know and went for Schwarzkopf XXL Ultra Brights as I'd used Raspberry Rebel and Purple Pink before and knew how bright they would come out on my hair.

I used about half a bottle of 500ml cheap conditioner (so approx 250ml) in a hair dye mixing tub and squirted a little of the dye into it as well. I wasn't precise with this, I just went by eye/mixed the solution until it was a little darker than the colour I wanted my hair to be.

I was trying to get a baby pink colour but because my hair wasn't super light, I wasn't really coming out very well so I thought what the hell, if I'm going pink I may as well go bright pink. Go hard or go home, right?!

So I took to my bleach, dyed my roots back blonde with BBlonde pre-lightener, dried my hair and then mixed some dye&conditioner and applied it to my hair. I mixed it with conditioner so that the dye wouldn't ravage my hair as much but I also like that it makes the dye go further. My hair now is pretty bright and I still have half a tube of hair dye left!

I left the dye on my hair for about 30 minutes and then washed it out and was so shocked by how bright my hair was! At first I was unsure by I'm slowly getting used to the colour as it's so bright I'm just so out of my comfort zone but it really has grown on me (haha hair pun!)

To dye the ends purple (you can't really see it) I used Schwarzkopf XXL Ultra Brights in Purple Punk and I just parted my hair into two equal sections from the back, squirted it from the tube and into my hairs and put it onto the ends of my hair then let it set for 30 mins, simple as!

I'll probably keep my hair like this until I either get bored or my roots grow in so fair that I just re-bleach my whole head blonde again. There we have it, that's how I dyed my hair/my journey!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

REVIEW: Lime Crime Velvetine Lipstick in Red Velvet

Lime Crime Red Velvet Velvetine - £11.99, Cocktail Cosmetics.

Hey!

Since the weathers getting colder I like to wear bright lip colours including reds, berry shades, bright pinks and deep purples. My favourite type of lip stick is definitely a matte/velvet finish lipstick as I find they stay a lot better than satin finish or luster lipsticks. My lips are usually quite good with keeping moisturised themselves without me having to do much more than apply a lip balm maybe once a day and exfoliate them from time to time, so I'm lucky that the weather doesn't cause me too much dryness otherwise the matte finish could be a potential pain in the bum due to they're drying effect.

Moving on, this lip stick has incredible staying power going from a gloss to a completely matte finish within seconds and not budging from the lips after eating/drinking making it perfect for a night out or if you're drinking a coffee on a cold day!

The shade is a deep red similar to that of MAC Ruby Woo except its (Lime Crime) a slightly deeper colour. I would say that it has pink-y undertone to it rather than a blue. I reckon it'd suit any skin colour and is definitely worth the £12 price tag for what you get!

This lip colour is fab and I can't wait for the pink velvet to come out at the end of November as I will definitely be buying that! I might also purchase Suedeberry as well!

Another good thing about these cosmetics (Lime Crime) is that they're all cruelty free and Vegan friendly! Which is a definite thumbs up from me!

Have you tried any of this brands products? Let me know!

October Favourites

Hey!

I really hate it when bloggers say "sorry for my absence" because I don't know why but I feel like they're not really sorry then they continue to lack in posting but I'm gonna be a hypocrite now and say SORRY FOR MY ABSENCE!!

I've been so awful with posting these passed few months, life has MAJORLY got in the way. From September I went back to uni in Liverpool and I just knew it wasn't for my, I didn't like the course, I didn't like the university I didn't like being away from home and I just decided that it didn't make me happy and it was more hassle that it's worth, so I left and since then I've been all over the place with sorting myself out so, my apologies, hopefully I can get back on track from here on out! No sympathy please that's not why I've written this I just wanted people to know it's not just because I'm lazy haha.

Ok so my favourites this month are limited because my funds have been! So here we goooo:

MARC JACOBS Daisy Eau De Parfum
This is my favourite fragrance of ALL time and its run out :'( I've been using it so so much this month and when I finally hit the bottom I nearly cried as I don't have the spare £50 fund to get another! Sad sad times :(

Gillette Satin Care Shaving Foam
This stuff smells like apricots and leaves the skin feeling soft as ever. It definitely makes shaving less of a chore and I will defintely repurchase when I run out!

TRESemme Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo
I hate that white residue that dry shampoos leave (even thought it's the shampoo sucking up the grease) so this dry shampoo is perfect for me, no white residue and smells so so fresh. I just find If I'm using dry shampoo then I probably don't have the time to rub the white residue out so to cut that step out completely is brill!

MaxFactor Face Finity 3 in 1 Foundation in shade Warm Almond
High street foundations are really hit and miss for me so to find one that completely agrees with my skin tone and skin type is extremely rare. I love this foundation, the full coverage and the feel of it on my skin. I've also heard that MaxFactor is the British/European version of Covergirl in America!

Avon Super Shock Mascara
I got this as a free gift for being an Avon representative and no word of a lie it is amazing! It makes my lashes long and thick without clumping and doesn't flake off.

Avon Clear Skin Clear Emergency Spot Treatment
My skin was really bad, and then I found this baby! I featured it in my skincare routine post and mentioned how I apply it and it literally had cleared up my whole face red patches and all, I can't say enough about it!

Avon Glimmerstick Eyebrow Definer in Blonde
I looked at this and instantly thought of the Anastasia brow wiz so for £3 I couldn't pass it up! I thought I'd give it a go and I wasn't disappointed it, it doesn't go waxy and looks really natural and blends easily so I'm really pleased.

St Tropez Instant Tan Wash Off Face & Body Lotion
I am often drawn to magazines by the type of freebie and a fake tan freebie is one I can never pass up. This is a wash off instant tan from St Tropez and ONLY washes off when you add soap to water, so it doesn't come off in the rain! However I did find that drinks being split on me made it patch so I was a bit disappointed but it brought me out in a really nice colour and lasted really well!

Non Beauty Faves
Song: Drake - Hold On We're Going Home/Avicii - You Make Me. These songs are the highlight of my nights out!
Food - Definitely Chicken Tikka Pasties!
Drink - Alpro chocolate soya milk!! without a DOUBT
Clothing - My bodycon LBD ORRR my Carpet-esque short shorts (for nights out again!)
TV Show - Gogglebox on Channel 4! If you haven't watched Gogglebox you definitely should on 4oD

What are you favourites? Let me know!
