L'oreal Nude Magique BB Powder in Light - £6.99, Boots

As a girl with oily skin, setting my foundation, and any other liquids, on my face is definitely a must. I dread to think how I'd look if I didn't. My search for the perfect face powder is never over, I've tried MAC MSF Natural, Rimmel Stay Matte and Maybelline Matte Maker and whilst all of them do the trick, I just like to shop around and see if I can find a holy grail or just to see if there are any better products on offer.

My quest for the perfect setting powder landed me at the L'oreal counter in Boots where I found the Nude Magique BB Powder. I was quite intrigued by it, as its a BB Powder, I didn't really understand it, so I thought I'd buy it and give it a try.

This powder is marketed as a BB Powder so to some extent it has a little bit of coverage, it also claims to give you 8 hours of mattifying finish, fresh looking skin, non drying mattifying effect, velvet feel and light coverage. So it basically aims to do what a BB cream does but on top of your foundation or BB cream/base of choice.

I definitely feel like it gives you a velvet finish to the skin, the skin looks matte but not cakey and not flat, it's very light coverage, I tend to use it to set my under eyes and my concealer as I like the coverage to be heavy with concealer so I don't want to cake on powder on top of that.

I don't, however, feel like it give 8 hours of mattifying results. I give it 5-6 tops. My skin is really oily and super oily in the T-zone so after around 5 hours, even with Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, I have to blot my face and re-powder, it's just that oily, so no hard feelings with the 8 hour claim.

It gives a little bit of a, I don't want to say shine but that's the only word I can think of, but trust me here because I'm definitely not a "dewy" skin girl, I'm all for the matte look, this just gives you that little extra something to stop your face looking flat and powdery. It doesn't dry your skin up either, now I speak for myself, my skin is oily, I've no idea if it would feel drying on very dry/normal skin types but on me and my skin, it's definitely not drying at all, it's actually very comfortable!

Another thing I love about this product is the packaging, you get a sleek, white looking case with the powder, a little sponge and a mirror inside which is great for on the go and to pop in your handbag for touch ups on a night out or whatever.

I really do think this powder lives up to it's claims, maybe not so much the 8 hour wear, but I'm yet to find a makeup setting powder that can do that, if you know of one, let me know (please!)

Have you tried this powder, what did you think? Would you consider trying it, after reading my review? Leave a comment below and let me know you thoughts!
